Connections Café meets weekly on Monday mornings at our Steeple Centre as an open café welcoming anyone who wishes help with increasing English language skills. We offer support at different levels with conversational English in groups, one to one teaching and trained ESOL tuition.
Our guests are in the majority asylum seekers and refugees coming from a range of countries including Sudan, Eritrea, Ukraine and Afganistan. We also welcome others and their families who may be in Dundee for work in the university and other sectors, and have had over seventeen nationalities represented in the past year.
We recognise that many of our guests have had to live through difficult times and we try to offer a warm welcome and supportive friendship while fostering community through social events and shared meals. We help with form filling for college and university applications, with practice interviews for work and support while navigating the immigration process. At all times we seek to offer the compassion of Jesus to people who are new to Dundee and in need of company and help to integrate into our local community.
Parish Nursing drop in sessions are on Monday and Thursday afternoons at our Steeple Centre. Keep up to date by visiting our Facebook page
An over-60s men’s group meets on a Thursday morning at our Steeple Centre for coffee, chat and a game of pool. To contact the organiser, email the church office (Steeple Centre).
